At J&B Recycling, we have invested in a new £75,000 Liebherr loading shovel at our Washington site, to keep the recyclables from the residents of Sunderland moving.
The loading shovel that adds to the £1million investment in fleet upgrades was delivered to Monument Park, Pattinson Industrial Estate in Washington last week to ensure the operation of tipping and loading runs smoothly.
In July 2014, J&B received a £7.5m investment from the Business Growth Fund (BGF), enabling major capacity expansion and process optimisation across all four North East based sites.
Matthew Tyrie, Operations Director at J&B Recycling, said: “This new machine was needed to replace the hired unit and ensures reliability of our service to councils.
“Investing in new vehicles ensures we can offer a superior recycling solution to contracts and allowing for much more flexibility and increased services.
“We currently operate from four sites within in the North East and need to guarantee our vehicles reflect our high standard of service.”
We have invested in replacing old units and adding new vehicles to our growing waste management services for both commercial and households.
The Washington facility services Sunderland City Council’s kerbside recycling contract amongst others and brings the opportunity to develop and grow further in the region.
Over the last year J&B has processed over 200,000 tonnes of materials from local authority and commercial waste streams and now has over 200 employees.
