J&B Recycling is pleased to announce the recent promotion of Dawn Maddison to Finance Team Leader.

Dawn’s career in finance began 20 years ago when she started out as a business admin and accounts professional in Stokesley. Her next chapter spanned an impressive 11½ years at a Stockton-based company, where she honed her skills in payroll and VAT. We were delighted to welcome Dawn to the J&B Recycling family as a Sales Ledger and Administrator in September 2019.

Dawn's passion for excellence has always shone brightly at J&B Recycling. It's no surprise that in September 2023, she was promoted to Finance Team Supervisor. When the chance for a team leader emerged, Dawn was the natural choice, thanks to her genuine dedication and extensive experience.

Day to day, Dawn’s responsibilities are varied. She's the go-to person for all things finance, making sure every sale/purchase invoice is accurate and dealt with in a timely manner. Every week, she completes weekly waste assessment checks and is responsible for investigating any variances. At month end, she supports the wider team to make sure all the processes run smoothly.

Dawn has the natural ability to lead, which has been evident in her role as Finance Team Supervisor. She has helped foster a team environment where everyone feels valued and motivated. Dawn has also demonstrated a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of the department's goals and challenges. This allows her to steer her team towards success efficiently, balancing the big picture with the intricacies of day-to-day operations. Her leadership style is not just about managing tasks; it's about inspiring her team to excel and grow, making her an invaluable asset to the department and the company.

Dawn has also demonstrated her desire and commitment to continue her professional development through continued learning. She views every day as an opportunity to expand her knowledge within the finance field, contributing to her own personal growth and the success of the wider team.

Beyond the realm of finance, Dawn finds joy in simple pleasures. In her spare time, she enjoys walking her dog, or going for a run. She also enjoys spending time with her 18-year-old daughter, Naomi, often going shopping together or enjoying the occasional holiday.

Dawn not only excels in her role at J&B Recycling but also embodies the company's commitment to sustainability in her everyday life. At home, you'll find her making sure to wash containers before recycling them – it's the little things that count! And it doesn't stop there; she's always mindful about saving energy, regularly turning off lights and sockets when they're not in use. It's all about those eco-friendly choices for Dawn, both at work and in her daily life.
