J&B Recycling has recently supported a number of events at Dyke House School through the organisation Business in the Community (BiTC).
The events aimed to give school children valuable experience of the business community through workshops and one to ones with business leaders throughout the town.
Susan Sheldrick, Career Development Manager at Dyke House School, said: “Thanks to the sponsorship of J&B Recycling this year we have been able to run three BITC events for whole year groups. A careers speed dating for Y8, a careers fair for Y10 and Y11 and a mock interview day for Y10.
“This means that with your help we have been able to give over 700 students a meaningful encounter with an employer and helped them to find out about the world of work and develop their employability skills.
“We are indebted to J&B for this support, particularly so as school budgets continue to be cut, making it ever more difficult for schools to fund this vital part of a young person’s education on their own.”
Business in the Community is the oldest and largest business-led membership organisation dedicated to responsible business.
J&B has been supporting the BiTC for the last two years and MD Vikki Jackson Smith and HR Manager Anne White recently attended the careers fair set up by the association.
