Here are answers to questions we are asked most frequently, but if you have a specific question please don't hesitate to get in touch with our team.
Get In TouchWe can generally offer next working day delivery if you need a skip urgently. In most cases, if not urgent, we can get your skip delivered to site in as little as 3-4 working days.
We do not usually require a signed contract for ad hoc skip hire services. There might be some occasions where we do ask for a signed agreement prior to starting skip hire (e.g. for longer term hire). There are serval reasons why a written agreement is important. First of all, it acts as the Waste Transfer Note between our business, this is a legal requirement and something that we both need to add legitimacy to the services we are performing for you. Secondly, it protects all parties involved - it ensures we do our job and that you agree to use us working for you.
If you have any questions, please get in touch with our sales team.
The length of our skip hire is 7-days as standard. However, if you would like to keep the skip for a longer period of time, please let us know, and we can arrange this for you.
Payment is generally required in advance for skip hire.
No soil, plasterboard, tyres, mattresses, gas canisters, hazardous waste or drums of liquid may be deposited in containers unless specifically arranged with written consent of J&B Recycling Ltd.
Examples of hazardous waste includes fridge freezers, asbestos, batteries, paints, tyres, TVs. If in doubt, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Non permitted waste deposited in skips will be returned and/or charged to the customer at an additional cost.
The skip can be placed outside your home on public roads, however, it must not violate any road rules in that area. For example, skips cannot be placed on double yellow lines. You cannot block public footpaths, so please make sure there is enough space for the skip to be placed without obstructing road users.
If you choose to place your skip on the road, you will need to have a permit from your local council. See below.
